Jonathan Villela, graduate conductor at the Butler School of Music, will introduce us to the world of classical music and conducting. He will also discuss modern challenges that musicians face, and the ever-changing role of fine arts in our society.
About the speaker:
Jonathan graduated in saxophone, chamber music and music education from OSU, and taught conducting at a middle school. He is currently pursuing graduate work in wind conducting at UT. He teaches undergrads, works with concert ensembles and the Longhorn Marching Band, and has been a guest conductor of the Wind Bands Association of Singapore and Cedar Park Winds.
