Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a condition that involves intense intrusive memories of a traumatic event and intense, persistent feelings of anxiety and other negative emotions.
The Laboratory for the Study of Anxiety Disorders, based at the University of Texas, is currently recruiting PTSD sufferers for a clinical trial investigating the efficacy of a brief enhanced exposure treatment for PTSD.
To be eligible, participants must (a) be between the ages of 18 and 65; (b) meet full DSM-IV criteria for PTSD based on a structured clinical interview; and (c) have some memory of the traumatic event.
Those who qualify will be offered evaluation and treatment at no cost.
