The Memory & Aging Lab in the Department of Psychology at UT Austin is conducting a brain EEG study to understand how culture affects memory.
We are looking for people who are:
1) Aged 18-35
2) Fluent in English
3) Mexican Americans: you were born in the US, but both of your parents were born in Mexico
or
Non-Hispanic White Americans: you were born in the US, as were both of your parents and all of your grandparents
You will visit the lab once on the UT campus (SEAY building), taking 4 hours. You will study words and pictures while your brain activity is measured with EEG, which is a safe, painless, and non-invasive. Electrodes will be placed on the scalp with gel, which is easily washed out.
Participants will be compensated with $20 per hour plus $5 for travel expenses.
