Paid research opportunity for children!

  • Is your child between 5 and 12 years old?
  • Is your child a person who does NOT stutter?
  • Is your child a person who DOES stutter?

If you answered YES to these questions you may be eligible to participate in a research study.

The purpose of this research project is to investigate the organization of the mental lexicon in children who do and do not stutter by testing their ability to listen to and recall lists of words related by their sounds or meaning. With this study, we hope to further our knowledge and understanding about lexical-semantic organization in children.

Children who do and do not stutter are eligible for participation.  The study is being conducted by the Stuttering and Linguistic Processing Lab and the Bodner Developmental Stuttering Lab within the Lang Stuttering Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. All data will be collected online. The study will be completed across 1 virtual session lasting approximately 2-2.5 hours and compensation will be provided.

Please contact stutteringlinguisticslab@austin.utexas.edu for more information.

This study has been approved by The University of Texas at Austin Institutional Review Board.
