Paid research opportunity for children

The Stuttering and Linguistic Processing Lab is seeking participants for a virtual study lasting approximately 2-2.5 hours. The purpose of this research project is to investigate the organization of the mental lexicon in children who do and do not stutter by testing their ability to listen to and recall lists of words related by their sounds or meaning. With this study, we hope to further our knowledge and understanding about lexical-semantic organization in children.

Children between 5 and 12 years of age with typical language abilities without a history of neurodevelopmental disabilities (e.g., ADD/ADHD, autism etc.) or speech/language disorders (with the exception of stuttering for the participants in the stuttering group) are eligible for participation. Compensation will be provided. Please contact stutteringlinguisticslab@austin.utexas.edu for more information.

This study has been approved by The University of Texas at Austin Institutional Review Board.
