Hello everyone!

The Stuttering and Linguistic Processing lab at UT is seeking young adults to serve as the control group for a study that investigates cognitive and linguistic factors that contribute to stuttered speech.

Participants need to:

  • be Native English speakers
  • be between 22 and 55 years old
  • have a Bachelors or a Masters degree
  • have no history of speech/language/reading/learning disorders or any cognitive or neurological diagnoses (e.g., ADD/ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia etc.)

The study will be conducted over zoom and it will last approximately 1.5 hours. Participants will be asked to engage in a variety of speaking situations (e.g., conversation, picture description, reading), complete a test of general cognitive ability, and participate in short experimental tasks that focus on different types of working memory (e.g., visual, auditory etc.).
