The Center for Psychedelic Research and Therapy at UT Austin’s Dell Medical School is collaborating with the Heroic Hearts Project, a non-profit organization. We are currently conducting research to understand changes in the brain that occur following receipt of psychedelic-assisted therapies in women that are experiencing mental health difficulties in grieving the loss of a spouse/partner or family member. You may qualify for this study if you are: 

-Interested in participating in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy with the Heroic Hearts Project for the purposes of alleviating mental health symptoms related to the loss of spouse, partner, or family member.

- Female, over the age of 18, and fluent in English.

- Are currently experiencing mental health difficulties related to the death of a spouse, romantic partner, or family member.

- Are not pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or claustrophobic. 

- Are willing and able to undergo brain scans in an MRI machine

- Are willing to travel to the Austin, TX Dell Med facility for MRI scans, EEG measurements and blood draws.

Transportation and hotels at Austin will be covered, as will incidental expenses for meals and ground transportation. All expenses would be paid and money would be provided for food and transportation while visiting Austin, TX for two days on two separate trips. You could also be reimbursed to hire a caregiver in your absence if you meet certain requirements.

The research study visits will last approximately 6-8 hours on each visit to Austin, with the rest of the time for you to enjoy sight-seeing or relaxing. You can also earn up to $900 from participating in the research study! Full study participation time is 6-8 months.
