Hi,

We are researchers from UTSoundLab in the Linguistics department of UT Austin. We are looking for native and non-native speakers of English to participate in an eye-tracking study that investigates how English-speaking listeners process continuous English speech. Participants will listen to some sentences and make responses to them based on what they see or hear. The study will take place on the UT campus (RLP 4.722) and will last one hour. You will receive a $15 Starbucks gift card for your participation. The study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at UT Austin.

If you are interested, please first check your eligibility. To participate, you must:

  • Be a native or non-native speaker of English
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have no known speech or hearing issues,
  • Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision (i.e., wearing glasses or contacts is fine), and
  • Have not participated in this study before AND are currently not enrolled in LIN 306 Introduction to the Study of Language.

If you meet the requirements and would like to sign up for the study, or have further questions, please contact us at utsoundlab@gmail.com. We’ll try to schedule a time with you.

Thanks,
UTSoundLab
