About this Event
128 INNER CAMPUS DR , Austin, Texas 78705
https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/historicalstudies/events/47893With his book The Columbian Exchange: Biological and Cultural Consequences of 1492 (1972), Alfred W. Crosby became a pioneer of the field of environmental history. He was a UT faculty member for 22 years, and passed away last March. This panel will open with some reminiscences of this larger-than-life figure, then turn to an evaluation of his contribution to a field that continues to invigorate the study of pre-modern societies.
