About this Event
2109 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic showed how necessary it is for clinicians to be able to monitor their patients while maintaining a safe distance. A new blood pressure monitor has been developed that can help clinicians do just this. This new monitor is designed to measure blood pressure during exercise and we, researchers at the Cardiovascular Aging Research Lab, have created a research study to test the accuracy of this new device. We are looking for volunteers who want to be part of the study. You would need to conduct a short (8 - 12 minute) and fairly easy bike test and make two visits to the lab each being about 45 minutes long. After the second visit you will earn a $25 Target Giftcard and receive information such as blood pressure in both of your arms at rest and during exercise, your body fat percentage, and muscle mass. We may also be able to tell you if you are at risk for any cardiac related events in the future. If you are interested in participating in our study please contact Natalie at nmclaurin@utexas.edu.
