Peacebuilding through Dialogue in the Middle-East

During the panel, we will hear from the Israeli and Palestinian directors of Seeds of Peace, about the ways in which the organization harnesses dialogue among teenagers from the Middle East to promote change. The discussion will delve into the practicalities of dialogue under a reality of prolonged conflict and occupation. What does it look like in the dialogue room? What challenges do we encounter? What is the place of power relations throughout the process? What are the goals of the dialogue? What are its limits? What is the point of dialogue in a reality that keeps on getting worse?

Participants:

Jonathan Kabiri, the Israeli program director and a graduate of the program.

Minra Ansari, the Palestinian program director, a facilitator, and a graduate of the program.

Moderator: Inbal Leibovits, a Ph.D student in our department, and a former dialogue facilitator, and a graduate of Seeds of Peace
