Research Study: Shoulder Impingement Syndrome in Aging.

Are you suffering from shoulder pain? We are currently conducting a shoulder study in Neuromuscular Physiology Research Laboratory  (Led by Dr. Lisa Griffin).

We are looking for both healthy adults and adults with shoulder impingement syndrome aged over 65 years or above to compare muscle activity and fatigability of shoulder muscles between elderly individuals with and without shoulder impingement syndrome.

The result will be used for the development of rehabilitation protocols for elderly people with shoulder pain in the future.

Participants will have:

  • Single-visit data collection

  • The session will last for 2 hours


Are you eligible?

  • Age 65 or above
  • Healthy or Have shoulder pain for more than
  • 2 weeks
  • No acute shoulder muscle tears
  • No shoulder surgery before
  • No osteoarthritis induced shoulder pain
  • No medication that would affect the nervous system


Location: the University of Texas at Austin. Bellmont Hall, Gate #4, Fifth Floor, 546D.
