SDCTx Summer Graphic Design Institute

Looking around, we see an infinite number of colors, images, shapes, symbols and words. Graphic design touches nearly every aspect of life from ones shoes to modern technology and even architecture. It is everywhere, and yet, it is practically invisible.

During this summer institute, students will be introduced to graphic design and turn it from something invisible to something they can't help but see everywhere. A combination of learning design software like Adobe Illustrator and learning from actual objects will help students develop the ability to think creatively and work collaboratively to solve the various kinds of problems graphic designers grapple with, including:

  • How to create a logo that represents a company or cause
  • How to help people get from point A to point B
  • How to design an app that helps people reach their goals
