Engineering graduate students at the University of Texas at Austin have designed a survey that strives to understand individuals’ knowledge of, preferences for self-driving technologies (such as the Google car and adaptive cruise control), connected-vehicle technologies (cars that talk to roadside warning devices and to each other), and other unusual transportation opportunities that are emerging (e.g., dynamic ride-sharing and self-driving taxis). This work is done as a public service and has received UT’s Internal Review Board approval.
