South Asia Garden Harvest Day

Join us for our first harvesting and planting day at the South Asia Garden! The garden is a collaboration between the South Asia Institute and University Housing and Dining established with a UT Austin Green Fund grant. It is located in the same area as the Jester gardens behind Brackenridge Hall and serves as a living classroom where campus visitors can learn about sustainable food production and the global histories of vegetables and herbs common to South Asian foodways.

At our first volunteer day, we will harvest and remove summer crops and put in fall vegetables and herbs. We will also start seeds for fall and winter and do some pruning, weeding, and mulching. Gardening gloves will be available, but don't forget a hat and water!
