Gates open at 11 AM
Game starts at 3 PM
UT Press is delighted to be partnering with the Texas Playboys Baseball Club for a day out at the ball park benefitting the publishing program at UT Press. Join us on Saturday, September 9, at The Long Time in Austin for a full day of baseball and books! Astros and Asterisks editor Jonathan Silverman will be there signing copies of his book and chatting with baseball fans and we’ll have plenty of other home run books on sale at the ballpark at a great discount!
Please consider donating $10 or more to UT Press at bit.ly/SupportUTPress. By doing so, you’ll also be automatically entered into the game day raffle, which includes tons of cool stuff from the Press, the game’s sponsors, and friends. Though you don’t have to be present to win, we hope you’ll join us at the game on SEPTEMBER 9—gates open at 11, game starts a 3 pm!
Why support our work? UT Press publishes books, journals, and digital media that educate; advance public knowledge; and deepen our understanding of history, current events, and contemporary society across the world, as well as the people, land, heritage, and ever-evolving culture of Austin and Texas.
As a mission-driven, not-for-profit publisher, the University of Texas Press depends on the generosity of people who share our passion for groundbreaking scholarly work and illuminating general interest books. Over nearly seventy-five years, some of our most ambitious undertakings—from new book series like The Texas Bookshelf to beautifully produced books on the visual arts—have been made possible by enthusiastic supporters. We are so grateful for that support.
Book publishing, done well, is an expensive endeavor. At the University of Texas Press, we seek the very best manuscripts from authors who lead their fields, and we commit to developing these manuscripts into attractive books of lasting importance and disseminating them as widely as possible. Doing so requires a series of investments—in highly skilled staff, quality materials, and careful production. In each of these areas we are focused on excellence, and we believe that the results speak for themselves.
By making a gift to UT Press, you will greatly assist us in continuing to fulfill our mission. Donations made in this way are available to us to answer the greatest needs of the day, whether that is absorbing the costs of color illustrations in an art history book or creating professional development opportunities for staff. If you would like to explore a more targeted use for your gift, we would welcome a conversation about your particular interests and goals.
Join us at the game and make your contribution today! https://bit.ly/SupportUTPress
