For the opening Symphony Orchestra concert of the academic year, the Butler School will host Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-winning composer Jennifer Higdon as recipient of the 2018-2019 Eddie Medora King Award. Interim director Ryan Kelly will conduct Higdon's Oboe Concerto (featuring faculty oboe soloist Andrew Parker) as well as Elgar's Variations on an Original Theme, "Enigma".
