The event, "College for a Day," will welcome 30 4th-6th grade students from Sanchez Elementary School, part of Austin ISD. This program is designed to give these young students a firsthand experience of campus life, focusing on college readiness, career exploration, and the importance of maintaining good health to achieve future goals.
The day’s activities will include a variety of hands-on workshops and educational stations, such as:

Goal-Setting Workshop: Students will complete a fun worksheet to define their future aspirations, such as what they want to be when they grow up, and create a “roadmap” showing how healthy habits and education play a key role in achieving these goals.

Hands-On Science Experiment: Students will participate in a simple health-related science experiment (e.g., measuring how exercise impacts heart rate), offering them an engaging introduction to scientific inquiry and the types of lessons they might encounter in higher education.

Health Trivia Game: A trivia game focusing on health, fitness, and college life will be set up, with students divided into teams to compete for small prizes, making learning both interactive and fun.

Main Activity: Interactive College Readiness Presentation: A lively, interactive presentation will introduce students to college life, covering topics such as classes, dorm life, and extracurricular activities. Students will be encouraged to ask questions to further engage in the discussion.
