Join us for the largest public archeology event in Austin! The annual Texas Archeology Month Fair is free and open to everyone. This event, sponsored by UT's Texas Archeological Research Lab, the Texas Historical Commission, and others, brings together dozens of professional and avocational archeologists to offer fun and educational activities and displays about Texas archeology. There's something fun for scientists and adventurers of all ages. Try your hand at atlatl throwing or pottery-making, and learn about the archeology going on all around you right here in Texas!
This year's Fair will feature representatives from UT's Anthropology and Classics departments, UT's Mesoamerican Center, the Texas Archeological Society, the Texas State History Museum, Great Promise for Native Americans, TxDOT, the Travis County Archeological Society, the Llano Uplift Archeologial Society, Texas State University's Forensic Anthropology program, the Sophienburg Museum, the Gault School of Archaeological Research, the Shumla Archaeological Research and Education Center, the Council of Texas Archeologists, the Texas Historical Commission, and other partners.
The 2018 Texas Archeology Month Fair will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the J.J. Pickle Research Campus in north Austin.
