The first rally was held in 1916 before the Thanksgiving Texas vs. A&M game. Texas won the game and the tradition became a spirit staple until the late 1960s. Today, this popular student event is held every year before the Texas vs. OU game and is run by the Texas Exes.

Each year, Longhorn students gather on Guadalupe Street and at the Main Mall in front of the Tower where the crowd of students, faculty, alumni and fans hear the band and from the Longhorn football coaches and players.

The Texas Exes extends an invitation to the entire student and Austin community to attend the rally and support their football team in a bid for victory against OU!
