The Truth About Killer Robots: AI in the Media

Join the us for a night of discussions about how, with the help of the media, we can better understand the advent of systems that connect people with artificial intelligence. We'll screen the film “The Truth About Killer Robots," a documentary that explores the many ways in which AI is insinuating itself into everyday life and making old forms of work increasingly obsolete. This will be followed by a conversation with director Maxim Pozdorovkin and members of the UT Good Systems grand challenge team.

Given AI's ever-increasing role in our society, it's important that all of us be better educated about it. Reasonable people should be able to distinguish "good" AI technologies from "bad" ones, yet most people find that difficult, and even the experts disagree about how to judge AI's impact. Media, in all its forms, can help us be more cognizant and knowledgeable when we talk about AI and its effects on society.
