12:30pm-1:30pm ~ COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS
Join us for a series of "Community Conversations," designed to invite consideration of Vincent Valdez’s "The City" through close looking, understanding of the artist’s process and intentions, and wide-ranging conversation about racism in our society.
5:30pm ~ BEAT THE RUSH: Riders Against the Storm
Austin based hip hop duo RIDERS AGAINST the STORM (RAS) will blend visceral discussion about the intersections of indigenous and contemporary worlds with an energetic musical performance. This performance will take place in our atrium.
5:30pm-8:30pm ~ POP-UP EXHIBITION: Wonder Women in Art
Explore some of the powerful roles women play, focusing on Change Agent, Symbol, Mother, and Supernatural Force showcased through artworks at this special pop-up exhibition in our Prints & Drawings room.
Museum admission is always free on Thursdays.
The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Paid parking is available in the Blanton/Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Parking is $4; bring your ticket with you to the front desk of the museum.
