The goal of health care should be creating value, defined as the outcomes that matter to patients over the full cycle of care for the money spent. The difficulty of measuring outcomes means that value creation efforts often focus solely on cost reduction or on improving measures of process, compliance, or patient satisfaction rather than meaningful patient outcomes. This workshop introduces the Capability, Comfort and Calm™ framework, which participants can use to simplify and streamline outcome measurement and evaluation.

Please join the Value Institute teaching team, including Elizabeth Teisberg, Ph.D., and Scott Wallace, J.D., MBA, co-directors of the Value Institute for Health and Care along with Alice AndrewsKathy Carberry, and CEO of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement Christina Åkerman for a two-day interactive workshop focusing on implementing outcomes measurement. Through this course, participants will learn the “how-to” of outcomes measurement including where to start, what measures to use, and how to measure using the current tools available. Participants will discuss real-life barriers to measurement and strategies to overcome them as well how to sustain measurement and develop feedback mechanisms that inform continuous care delivery improvement. Participants will leave empowered to start measuring outcomes in a variety of care delivery settings that range from small teams to large organizations.
