VIP Distinguished Speaker Series: SVP & CFO of Google

The VIP Distinguished Speakers Series has been around for over a decade as an opportunity for Fortune 500 C-level Executives to visit McCombs to share their Views, Insights, and Perspectives. VIP also gives students the opportunity to ask these guests questions. The VIP Speaker Series is the official McCombs School of Business lecture series.

Join us in Amphitheater 204 at the AT&T Conference Center on Thursday, February 22 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm for a conversation with CFO of Alphabet Inc. and Google, Ruth Porat about her experiences as the Chief Financial Officer and before.

Ruth joined Alphabet / Google as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in May 2015. Prior to joining Alphabet, Ruth was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Morgan Stanley. While a banker at Morgan Stanley, she is credited with creating the European debt financing that saved Amazon.com from collapse during the dot-com melt down in 2000. During the financial crisis in ‘08, Porat led the Morgan Stanley team advising the United States Department of the Treasury regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and the New York Federal Reserve Bank with respect to AIG.
