There are many groups and individuals researching Waller Creek, and yet, many Waller Creek researchers are unaware of the results and/or work being done by others.  Hence the Waller Creek Symposium:

9:30-11am Poster Session

11am-12:15pm Presentations-

Presentation of the University of Texas at Austin Waller Creek Framework (Jim Walker)

City of Austin, Watershed Protection about the Green Infrastructure Project in the upper watershed (North of Koenig Ln.) (Mateo Scroggins)

12:15-1pm  Lunch (provided by Winkler Family Foundation)

1-1:30  Amy Belaire The Nature Conservancy's Austin Urban Conservation Scientist and Program Manager on "Integrating Nature into the City"

1:30-1:45pm Wrap-up (What we have seen, what we know, and what do we want to know?)

 

Anyone doing research about Waller Creek, or who is interested in Waller Creek, is welcome to attend.  We welcome those who want to listen and participate in the discussions, and we especially encourage anyone with data, proposals, or information about the creek to make a poster to share your discoveries.

 

The goal is to have as many Waller Creek researchers attend as possible, so that we can share our research, learn from each other, and work on solutions to problems in, and along, Waller Creek.
