http://bit.ly/cliovis-ihs-2025Building on concepts from last semester's session (info), this workshop features an abbreviated overview of ClioVis and will highlight new features and enhanced utilities in the app.
This event includes a hands-on demonstration and guided walkthrough as well as audience Q&A with Dr. Erika Bsumek (Founder of ClioVis, Ellen Clarke Temple Chair in the History of Women, and Professor of History, UT Austin), Dr. Rachel Ozanne (ClioVis Senior Specialist and Assistant Professor of Instruction in History, UT Austin), and Marcus Golding (ClioVis Director of Educational Operations and Doctoral Candidate in History). They will also discuss the pedagogy behind ClioVis assignments, student experiences, and creating rubrics for ClioVis assignments.
In addition, undergraduate students Evelyn Jackson, Cathering DaMoude, Samantha Vidales, Aidan Dresang, and Chelsea Akinloye will briefly discuss their work with ClioVis.
No prior experience or technical expertise needed to participate. This free-and-open-to-all event will take place in a hybrid format, both in-person and virtually via Zoom, and a light lunch will be provided.

The Institute for Historical Studies is committed to sustainable practices and minimizing waste. To that end, we ask that you inform us in your RSVP if you will not require lunch. In addition, we have eliminated all bottled water and encourage attendees to bring their own reusable mugs for coffee/tea and reusable canteens to fill at our water containers.
